Accomodation
The
Wallace Tower has recently undergone an extensive and complete building
refurbishment assisted by Historic Scotland. All rooms are furnished
to a high standard and are fully centrally heated.
Ground
Floor

The
Laigh Hall Dining room.
A Baronial dining hall with a large open fireplace and comfortable
arm chairs. Oak panelling and barrel vaulted ceiling, furnished in
Jacobean style with carved furniture and the Laird's table which amply

The
“Country” Kitchen
fully equipped with modern appliances including a cooking range
with electric double oven, griddle, grill, warming plate and warming
drawer. There
is a full compliment of stainless steel pans, crockery, china and
glassware. There are storage cupboards, a butchers block, table
and chairs, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, filter coffee machine,

The
Library
Housing the Castle's Book, Games and Scottish music collection.
In addition to the Victorian writing desk there is a chaise longue
which converts into a small comfortable double bed. (click on
image to see bigger)
Utility
and Drying Room with automatic washing machine, tumble dryer,
drying rack, iron, ironing board and dishwasher, for twelve place
settings.

The
Great Hall
Double vaulted with twelve-foot thick walls, this immense room comprises
half of the first floor. Furnished in comfortable Baroque style,
the Cathcart and turnpike stairs, wall chambers and stonework create
an impression of medieval Scotland. Digital TV and mini hi-fi system.

The
Wallace Room
With twin beds, Indian carpets, antique furniture, mirrors and Scottish
prints, this comfortable room has views across the river Coyle ravine

Boyd Room
The Laird's bedroom with ensuite bathroom, both with fine views
across the Coyle ravine and woodlands, is furnished with a large
inlaid mahogany double bed, washstand, dressing table and wardrobe,
Indian carpet and Scottish prints.

There is a modern bathroom located on the first floor.

Second
Floor
The
Drawing Room
Features a Scottish oriel window with fine views of the countryside.
Furnished with pictures, an antique writing bureau, comfortable
traditional armchairs, settee, round and Sutherland tables plus
television cabinet with Nicam TV and Video.

The
Kennedy Room
With a brass and iron double bed, mahogany inlaid furniture, Indian
carpets, Georgian vanity mirror and Scottish prints. Magnificent
views of sun setting behind the Isle of Arran.

The
Douglas Room
Furnished similarly to the Kennedy room but with twin cast iron beds.
This room also has superb views across Ayrshire to the distant Isle

Bathroom
There is a large modern bathroom on the third floor shared between
the Kennedy and Douglas rooms.
Car
Parking
There is parking for four cars at the front of the castle.
Cleaning
The tower has a regular cleaner for four hours a week, additional
cleaning by arrangement.
Additional
Beds
There is a folding bed and a cot available for use in the bedrooms
or the drawing room.
Dining
There are numerous places to dine within the locality, from fine
restaurants to friendly Scottish Inns and take-aways. See local

Tennis
Court
There is an all weather tennis court available for the use of
residents.
Pets
Pets strictly by arrangement.
Garden
and Grounds
There is a small private yard to the rear of the tower, estate
grounds are shared with the other residents of the Sundrum Castle
estate.

Mains water, mains electricity, drainage to estate sewerage system,
oil-fired central heating and BT phone line, satellite TV.
